Wired burglar alarms in Wigan

Hard-wired alarm systems installed, upgraded and repaired: very dependable, no sensor batteries to change, and often able to reuse the cables already in your walls.

In a wired alarm, every sensor and door contact is connected back to the control panel by cable. There are no radio signals to drop out and no batteries in the sensors, which is why wired systems have a reputation for being so dependable.

DF Alarms installs wired burglar alarms, including Orisec systems, and upgrades and repairs wired alarms of any make. If your home already has alarm cables from an old system, Dean will test them and, where they are sound, connect a new panel and sensors to them.

When wired makes the most sense

Neat cabling, not a mess

The worry with wired alarms is cables everywhere. Done properly, you barely see them: runs go under floors, through lofts and along coving, clipped tidily where they have to be on show, and every connection is made off neatly at the panel.

In a finished home where cabling would mean disruption, Dean will tell you so, and a wireless alarm may be the better choice. Many systems can also mix the two, wired where cables already exist and wireless where they do not.

How it works

From first call to a system you trust

  1. Ring or message Dean

Tell him what you need: a new alarm, a service, a fault or cameras. You speak to the engineer, not a sales line.

  2. A look and a free quote

For new systems Dean comes and looks at the house, then gives you a clear, no-obligation price.

  3. Fitted neatly

Sensors, contacts, keypad, bell box or cameras installed tidily, placed where they work best for your home.

  4. Tested and explained

Everything tested before he leaves, and you are shown how to set, unset and use it with confidence.

Wired alarm questions

All questions

Should I have a wired or wireless alarm?

Both work well. Wired systems are very reliable and suit houses where cables can be hidden, such as during a renovation. Wireless systems go in faster with no cable runs or making good, which suits most finished homes. Dean fits both, and will look at your property and recommend what fits it best.

My house already has alarm cables. Can you use them?

Usually, yes. Old alarm cabling is often perfectly sound, so a new panel, keypad and sensors can be connected to it without running new cables. Dean tests the existing wiring first and tells you if any of it needs replacing.
